Quality Accounts 2010/11
The Quality Account is a public document produced on an annual basis by organisations that provide NHS services. The Quality Account draws on service quality data gathered throughout the previous year, identifies areas where improvements may be required and then looks ahead at priorities for improvement over the coming year.
The Department of Health describes what Quality Accounts are:
Quality Accounts aim to enhance accountability to the public and engage the leaders of an organisation in their quality improvement agenda. They provide information about the quality of the services which that organisation delivers.
By publishing their Quality Account each provider led by their Board or equivalent, is committing to improve the quality of care it delivers locally and inviting the public to hold them to account.
The public, patients and others with an interest will use a Quality Account to understand:
- what an organisation is doing well;
- where improvements in service quality are required;
- what the organisation’s priorities for improvement are for the coming year; and,
- how the organisation has involved people who use their services, staff, and others with an interest in their organisation in determining these priorities for improvement.
At this time of year, the K&C LINk is invited to comment on the draft Quality Accounts of our six local Trusts. Our representatives are currently working with all six Trusts to ensure the accessibility of the drafts. To view the documents please see our website or click on the link below:
