Patient Reference Groups

A Patient Reference Group, (PRG), is a local group of patients and GP practice staff who share information and views on services provided at GP surgeries.

Joining a PRG at your surgery is an excellent way to get involved in healthcare, share information and influence any changes which are made. They are beneficial to practices, in gauging the patient perspective on local issues, and to patients by providing a space to communicate concerns as well as gaining from improved communication with staff. PRGs ensure that the patient perspective is understood and represented in the commissioning process of new services.
