The K&C LINk will be conducting an ‘R U in the Picture’ photography competition from December 2009 for the 16 – 25 age group in the Borough. The competition will have a focus on young people through the use of photography as a medium to reflect concerns they have regarding their health and social care service needs. The competition will be run via our Facebook and website and will end on January 17th. We want as many young people as possible to be involved, we hope the images will give us a good understanding of the health and social care concerns that affect their everyday lives – either for individuals or family and friends.

Our aim is to highlight young people’s issues so that they can be addressed either through existing organisation networks or through a LINk sub-group run by young people to address those concerns.

The LINk would like local youth organisations in the Royal Borough to advertise the competition and disseminate details to their youth membership. We will be sending out posters and leaflets in the next few weeks for you to display. We would also like your input to suggest ways the K&C LINk can work together to engage young people to take part in the competition. The next steps will be to create a LINk youth forum to discuss their experiences of health and social care services.
